China West Air will operate a new direct air route between Heifei, the capital city of Anhui Province in Central China and Lhasa, the capital of Tibet.

There will be daily scheduled flights between Heifei and Lhasa. Flights from Tibet will take off from Lhasa Kongga International Airport at 09.30 am and land in Hefei Xinqiao International Airport at 1 pm. Flights to Lhasa will depart Heifei at 1.50 pm and arrive to Lhasa at 5.45 pm. Flying time is between three hours 30 minutes and four hours.

Since 2002, Anhui Province has been providing assistance to the three counties of Shannan region in Tibet, namely Cona, Comai and Nakartse. This new flight will become the first direct air route between Lhasa and Hefei and will help further promote the economic and cultural exchanges between Tibet Autonomous Region and Anhui Province attracting more visitors to Tibet.

Lhasa, the capital ofthe  autonomous region of Tibet, sits 3650 meters above sea level on the northern slopes of the Himalayas. "Land of the Gods", as Lhasa is dubbed, attracts visitors with its strong and evident Tibetian traditional culture, that blends seamlessly with Han Chinese character in the Western part of the city.
