Guess SEA's Longest Suspension Bridge Location

A new suspension bridge opened recently in West Java claims to be the longest bridge of its kind in the whole Southeast Asia. 

The Situ Gunung Suspension Bridge is locted in the Situ Gunung Tourist Park within the Mount Gede Pangrango National Park. The length of the bridge is 243 m, the width – 1.2 m, the weight is 80 tons. It is placed 107 m high above the ground and is made of merbau wood. The bridge was built by PT Fontis Aqua Vivam in collaboration with the national park and the opening ceremony took place on March, 9.

Currently, the bridge is opened for public daily from 7.30 am till 5.30 pm with ticket prices starting from INR50,000. Tickets also cover a visit to Lake Situ Gunung. The entrance of the bridge is reached via a 600-m hike. From the bridge, breathtaking views of the surrounding lush forests can be observed. All those who wish to make a stroll along the bridge are required to use a safety belt attached to the handrail.

Mount Gede Pangrango National Park has six entrances and is easily reached from Jakarta via a three-hours ride through Cibodas entrance point. There are also regular minibuses to Cibodas from Bogor and Cianjur.
