The festival is held under the patronage of Ministry of Culture and is a part of the celebration of '137 Years of Rattanakosin under Royal Benevolence'. The theme of the festival is 'Asian cultural diversity' and the whole event targets at disclosing unique cultural and art traditions and heritage of nations living in Asia.
The opening ceremony will take place at 6.30 pm at the National Museum with dancers from eight ASEAN countries – Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam – plus India and China sharing the same stage and making visitors aquainted with ethnic dances.
The Asean Cultural Centre on the 3rd floor of the Rachadamnoen Contemporary Art Centre will become the hotspot of the festival on Saturday and Sunday. Shows are scheduled between 1 pm and 3 pm both on Saturday and Sunday and admission is free.
On Sunday, at 6 pm there will be a closing ceremony at the National Museum.
