Head to Phu Tho Province, Vietnam to Listen to Xoan Singing

Xoan folk singing, or hat xoan, a kind of folk music in Vietnam which is usually performed during the first two months of the Tet, has recently become a famous tourist attraction with tours to Phu Tho province from Hanoi enjoying great popularity. 

Firts xoan singing tours to Phu Tho province, from where this variety of folk music originates, were officially launched in Aprl 2018 and since then ver 13,000 tourists joined the program.
 
Besides watching hat xoan performances, while in Phu Tho province, visitors are invited to visit Lãi Lèn Temple (singing shows on Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm and 4 pm) and several communal houses in Viet Tri City, including Hùng Lô Communal House, where regular singing shows are organized daily between 2 pm and 4 pm, An Thái Communal House and Kim Đái Communal House.

Another interesting destination from Phu Tho is a handicraft village where square and round sticky roce cakes are produced, an invention of Prince Lang Liêu, a son of one of the Hùng Kings. Gia Thanh conical hat making village in Phu Ninh District and Bợ soy sauce making village in Thanh Thuy District are also of interest. Thanh Thuy hot spring site and Xuan Son National Park are easily reachable and can be incorporated into Phu Tho visit program.
