Reintroduction of Kuala Lumpur–Kochi route has become possible due to considerable increase of demand for flights between India and Malaysia and reflects the strengthening of the Indian market as an important source for Malaysian inbound tourism.
The route was first opened in September, 2013, but only two years later, in 2015, Malaysia Airlines suspended their flights to India as a part of the company's restructuring. Flights from Kuala Lumpur will take off from Kuala lumpur International Airport at 10.40 pm and land at Cochin International Airport at 12.30 am the following day. The return flight will leave India at 1 am and get to the capital of Malaysia the same morning at 7.50 am. Flight duration is about four hours 20 minutes. Kuala Lumpur is two and a half hours ahead of Kochi.
Kochi is the capital city of the southwestern state of Kerala. It is one of the major port cities in India. It is also one of the major tourist destinations in the country, a cosmopolitan hot pot of cultures – from Arab, Chinese and Japanese to Portugese and Dutch. The best season to visit is from August to February.
