New Air Routes from Chongqing to Open

Air China to open a new air route from Chongqing, a major city in southwest China, to Luoyang, a city in the west of Henan province sitting in the confluence area of Luo River and Yellow River, and one of the four great ancient capitals of China.

The new route will be operational from January, 18th, with three weekly evening flights – on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday – scheduled. The Chongqing– Luoyang flight will take off at 6.40 pm and land at the destination airport at 8.10 pm. The return flight will leave Luoyang Beijiao Airport at 9.35 pm and reach Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport by 11.15 pm. Flight time is about 90 minutes.

Since December, 28th, Chongqing Airlines fly from Chongqing, China to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is one of the three international destinations served by Chongqing Airlines the two other being Thailand and Vietnam. Currently, there are three flights a week in each direction, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. From China to Sri Lanka, flights depart at 5.25 pm and land at 9.10 pm local time. In the reverse direction, flights take off from Bandaranaike International Airport at 10.10 pm and arrive to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 6 am the next morning. The length of each flight is about 6 hours; time difference between China and Sri Lanka is (-)2 hours 30 minutes.
