Halong was chosen as a host as it is one of the most developed parts of the country from tourism point of view with a wide offer of tourism-related products, rapidly expanding infrastructure and a brand-new airport.
The annual forum boosts arrivals to ASEAN member states, promotes intra-ASEAN travel, strengthens cooperation among various tourism sectors in ASEAN, and accelerates the growth of tourism in ASEAN in general through exchange of ideas, review of industry development, and joint efforts.
Tourism Ministers from China, Japan, Republic of Korea and India are invited to meet with their counterparts from ASEAN countries during ASEAN Tourism Ministers Meetings.
A three-day annual event, ATF TRAVEX fair will be organized in the frames of the forum from January, 16 till January, 18. The event is aimed at facilitating of sale and purchase of regional and individual tourism products of ASEAN member states. The exhibition will feature suppliers and providers of tourist products and services from ASEAN countries: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The delegates attending the forum will be offered to participate in the opening ceremony, welcome reception and dinner, a golf tournament and a farewell party as well as pre and post-show tours.

News in AsiaThe 38th ASEAN Tourism Forum will be held in Halong, Vietnam, with official meetings taking place between January, 14 and January, 18 this year. It is expected that over 1,500 delegates from 10 ASEAN countries will attend the event.
