World's First Orient Express Hotel Opens in Bangkok

We have not yet talked enough about the recently opened highest skywalk in Bangkok on the 78th floor of the stunning King Power Mahanakhon scyscrapper located in Sathorn business district, when this prominent landmark draws everyone's attantion again:

the world's first Orient Express hotel is set to open in the King Power Mahanakhon building, 136 years after the Orient Express took its maiden journey from Paris. The news was made public yesterday during a signing ceremony between AccorHotels and King Power when the Orient Express Hotel brand was unveiled.

Back in time, when the Orient Express train was launched, Paris used to be the most visited city in the world. Now, when Bangkok has taken the lead, the Orient Express Hotel launches. The Orient Express is widely regarded as a symbol of luxury but not only. It is a link between Occident and Orient, history and modernity, curiosity and cultures.

It is already known that the new luxury hotel will feature 154 rooms with nine suites and two penthouses among them. An entire floor will be occupied by wellness venues including an outdoor pool and jacuzzi plus signature Orient Express Spa by Guerlain. Two signature restaurants will be located on the second and fifth levels. Mott 32 will focus on Cantonese cuisine while Mahanathi will be helmed by chef David Thompson of the Nahm and Long Chim fame.
