Pornpun Ratanapitakkul said the new timetable would come into effect on 1 December 2014 and would provide passengers with a more varied choice of travel times. The marketing manager said the extra daily flight would also help satisfy rising demand for travel to Siem Reap.
Siem Reap Airport is the international gateway to the fabled Angkor Wat Temple complex as well as attractions in northwest Cambodia that include Tonle Sap Lake. The facility is the busiest in the country and serves more than 30 airlines. It has flights from cities in Southeast Asia, Japan, China and South Korea.
Tourist authorities in the country say Siem Reap visitor arrivals are rising steadily. Recently released figures show that for the first nine months of 2014 visitor arrivals jumped 10 per cent to 1.7 million when compared to the corresponding period in 2013.

Late last week Thai AirAsia announced it was increasing the frequency of flights on its Bangkok to Siem Reap service. The airline’s marketing manager told reporters that the number of daily flights in each direction between the two locations would be increased from two to three.
