Tourism Week to Take Place in Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam

Tay Ninh, Vietnam's southeastern province on the border with Cambodia, invites tourists to visit the second culture and tourism week which will take place in Trang Bang district between December, 20 and December, 25.

The specialty product of Trang Bang is dew-wetted rice paper used for serving summer rolls with boiled pork, greens and sauces. The visitor will be offered an opportunity to witness the whole process of dew-wetted rice paper production and try their hand in making this product which was recognized by UNESCO an intangible heritage of Vietnam in 2016.

While Tay Ninh tourism week is going to be a biennal event, it is not a large scale thing. The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism expect to draw some 10,000 viisitors this year. Besides rice paper, other specialty crafts of Tay Ninh province will be demonstrated, too, in order to preserve the cultural heritage and promote the local artisians.

Due to the fact that Tay Ninh used to be a Khmer territory till the end of the 18th century, local culture features a mix of old Khmer traditions and Vietnamese influences.

There is a regular bus service to Tay Ninh from Ho Chi Minh City, about 100 km northwest.
