Chief executive officer of AirAsia Philippines shared with the public the airline's intention to open more routes to China and Japan and to add more flights on the exhisting routes in 2019.

The exact destinations are not yer decided but most probaby there will be flights to Osaka and/or Narita in Japan. In China, AirAsia Philippines are eying Chengdu and/or Chongqing. Due to heavy conjection of Beijing airport, this route is out of question for a time being as the airline has not yet found convenient slots for take off and landing in Manila and Beijing.

There are already regular routes served by the airline between the Philippines and China, including Guangzhou, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Shenzhen.
