Amazing Thailand Grand Sale to Draw More Tourists to Thailand

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a special Amazing Thailand Grand Sale promotion under 'Passport Privileges' theme. It will last two months, from November 15, 2018 till January, 15, 2019.

The end-year campaign is primarily aimed at tourists from short-haul markets from ASEAN, East Asia and South Asia and will hopefully boost arrivals during the New Year period resulting in at least 20 billion baht in revenue.

During the two months period, instead of single entry tourist visas double entry visas at the same cost of THB1,000 will be granted to tourists and the number of 30-days stamps while crossing the overland borders will be unlimited for holders of passports of visa exempt countries. Visa on arrival fee waiver for 20 countries was also announed earlier.

Besides, extra promotions and discounts will be offered for tourists in department stores in Bangkok with some of the provinces joining the campaign. Many shopping malls will organize pop-up ‘shopping events’. Handicraft and artisian products popular with tourists like Thai textiles, cosmetics, home appliances and top Thai brands will be widely promoted to encourage higher sales.

Further information of 'Passport Privileges' events, promotions and discounts can be found in brochures and leaflets distributed at the airports during the campaign.
