The vice president continued by saying that this was effective immediately and was designed to help THAI compete in today’s air passenger market as well as to offer more flight options for customers. The extra allowance applies to all domestic and international flights except ones going to, or originating in, the US.
The increase means that passengers travelling in economy class can now check-in 30kgs of luggage. Thai Royal Silk business class travellers are now allowed 40kgs and Thai Royal first class passengers 50kgs. There are also pro-rota increases for members of the airline’s Royal Orchid Plus frequent flyer programme.
The checked luggage allowance does not include carry-on bags. Passengers are allowed to carry one cabin bag onboard each. The airline advised passengers with queries about their baggage allowances to contact the customer service centre for help. Lines are open 24 hours a day.
