Indian budget carrier to up Bangkok flights

An Indian budget airline is all set to increase its flight schedule between Kolkata and Bangkok later this week. IndiGo is adding an extra flight to its daily services between the East Indian metropolis and the Thai capital from Friday 26 September.

The current IndiGo service leaves Kolkata at 20:45 and arrives at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport at 00:55 local time. The return flight departs at 02:20 and lands back in Kolkata at 03:35.

The new flights are more convenient as they offer daytime departures from both cities. The outbound flight from India will take off at 10:25 and the return flight from Bangkok at 14:40. Both times are local.

Commenting on the addition to the Kolkata-Bangkok timetable, IndiGo president Aditya Ghosh said it represented the carrier’s commitment to offering the citizens of Thailand and India a cheap and easy means of travelling between their two countries.

The president added that the additional flight would also help cement IndiGo’s position at the front line of the airline industry in India. IndiGo operates out of a hub at Gurgaon, near New Delhi, and with 500-plus flights a day on its schedule is the nation’s busiest airline.
