The consutruction of the Iconsiam cost 54 billion baht and the one billion baht opening ceremony promises to be a stunner. Already dubbed 'ICONSIAM City Opening Mega Phenomenon', the opening extravaganza will last three days with a private event taking part on November, 9.
A joint venture of Siam Piwat Co, Magnolia Quality Development Corporation and Charoen Pokphand Group, Iconsiam sits in Charoen Nakhon Road on the banks of the Chao Phraya River and occupies a plot of almost 9 hectar with a gross floor area of 750,000 square metres. The retail shops will be distributed between the two wings of the shopping complex – the main wing called Iconsiam and the luxury Iconluxe wing complete with world's leading fashion and lifestyle brands. Among others, there will be the first Thai branch of Siam Takashimaya department store and the first branch of the Apple Store in Thailand.
A special ‘Seven Wonders at ICONSIAM’ part will gather multiple attractions under its roof, including Icon Cineconic, an amusement park, an indoor floating market as well as Iconsiam Heritage Museum or River Museum Bangkok, a joint venture with The Fine Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture of Thailand.
Two residential condominium buildings – the 70-floor Magnolias Waterfront Residences at ICONSIAM and the 52-floor Residences at Mandarin Oriental Bangkok – are two of the tallest buildings in Bangkok.
