The offer ends on 15 October and applies to domestic and international flights. Web check-in for specific flights is from 24 to 2 hours before the departure of the flight. According to TTR Weekly, passengers can use computers or android phones to check-in, but not Apple iOS devices.
Bangkok Airways’ online check-in allows passengers to select their seats and generate boarding passes to print on home-computers. The service does save time queuing at airport check-in counters. The only downside is that travellers boarding international flights still have to go to the check-in zone 90 minutes before the flight departs.
The airline says this is necessary as staff have to collect checked bags and check the validity of travel documents. Passengers also have to go through immigration and customs checkpoints. The web check-in is restricted to passengers who don’t need any assistance getting to the aircraft, are adults and are not boarding codeshared flights.
Airline baggage bonus for online check-in
News in AsiaBangkok Airways has released news of a promotional campaign to encourage passengers to use its online check-in service. The Thai carrier says passengers will garner an extra five kilogrammes of checked baggage allowance if they use the web service.
