More control of Bangkok taxi drivers

The Transport Ministry of Thailand reported about planning the installation closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) in all cabs of Bangkok taxis. This measure is aimed to provide passengers safety.

The Transport Ministry of Thailand reported about planning the installation closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV) in all cabs of Bangkok taxis. This measure is aimed to provide passengers safety and to control of taxi drivers conduct.

CCTV would help to collect evidence in actions against taxi drivers and to struggle against their refusals to take passengers. 

It is expected CCTV will be installed in Bangkok taxis during three months. Moreover Transport Department also considers the possibility to install GPS tracking devices in taxis’ cabs.
