Central Highlands in Vietnam Will Host Pink Grass Festival This November

The second issue of the Lang Biang Pink Grass Festival will hit the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong, Vietnam late November this year. The festivities will last from November, 23 till December, 2.

The aim of the festival is to make visitors acquainted with the amazing natural beauty of Lang Biang Plateau which turns pink this time of the year. The plateau and some of the adjacent areas are the only places where a special type of grass which turns pink when in bloom grows wildly. From the end of November though the beginning of December all the hilly areas in Dankia – Suoi Vang Lake, in Lac Duong town will turn pinkish making for amazing photo opportunities.

Besides admiring pinkish landscapes, the guests of the festival will be able to participate in the pink grass photo contest and witness a horse race, a traditional saddle-free race of Co Ho people who live in the area. 

The best way to reach the festival is from the Central Highlands city of Da Lat, some 300 km northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. The quickest way to get from HCMC to Da Lat is by flight while an overland bus or car ride can take up to 10 hours. Dalat can also be reached via a short flight from Hanoi, Hue, Da Nang, and Hai Phong.
