Exploring Golden Triangle of India

If not all but many tourist destination around the world have a major draw known under the name of a 'Golden Triangle'. India has its own, too. Let's explore the Indian Golden Trainagle – where to go and what to see.

The Golden Triangle of India is basically three star tourist destinations located not far from each other, namely Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. This is arguably the best trodden tourist trail in the whole country but that does not mean it should be ruled out of your Indian itinerary.

Start in Delhi discovering its cosmopolitain vibe against the rich historical background. The important monuments not to be missed in Delhi include the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Humayun’s Tomb and India Gate. To feel the old times atmosphere, head to the southern Delhi, e.g. to the massive Tughlakabad Fort.

Only 4 hours away from Delhi, Agra is home to the famed Taj Mahal. Besides Taj Mahal, Akbar’s tomb, Jahangir Palace and the Agra Fort also deserve a visit. A tranquil walk along the Taj Nature Walk is a great way to have a breath of fresh air.

The Pink City of India, Jaipur is another 5 hours from Agra. Head there to catch glimpses of royal India. Grand old forts and palaces dot the city. Visit Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Jaigarh Fort, Jal Mahal, Albert Hall, Rambagh Palace and Nahargarh Fort and definitely do dedicate some time to local shopping at Johari Bazaar, Tripolia Bazaar, and Bapu Bazaar.
