The city is already served by heli taxis whisking passengers to and from the international airport wish they beat road congestion. But this time the initiative aims at tourists and is of purely entertaining character. At the beginning, pick ups will be available at two points only: Nandi Hills and Bidadi. If (when) the helirides become popular, customized routes will be developed.
Nandi Hills, 60 km from Bangalore, are located close to Chickballapur town, Karnataka. It is a hill station and an ancient hill fortress attracting visitors with its cool climate and trekking ooportunities all year round. A popular health resort, Nandi Hills are also visited for several temples located on the top of the hill and dedicated to Sri Ugra Narasimha and Sri Yoga Narasimha. On the lower hill there is a temple dedicated to Sri Bhoga Narasimha.
Bidadi, 30 km from Bangalore, is where one of the largest amusement parks in India, Wonderla, is located. Featuring 55 land and water rides, laser and virtual reality shows, dance floor and special attractions and play areas for kids, Wonderla is N1 amusement park in the country and is also in the top-10 amusement parks in Asia.
