Starting from October, 6th, folk perfomances and dance shows, amateur music sessions and pop songs will be set on the background of popular images of the Mekong Delta region. There will be a chance to get glimpses of culture, traditions and habits of popeple of different ethnic groups ingenious to the region.
On October, 13-14, the Khmer ethnic group from Sóc Trăng Province invites tourists to take part in the festivities dedicated to the Sen Dolta Festival; on October, 21st the Xơ Đăng group from Kon Tum Province will have their New Crop Festival; and on October, 28th the Chăm group in Ninh Thuận will conduct the colourful Palau Sah Praying for Rain ceremony.
Besides, a photo exhibition featuring historical and contemporary pics of the Mekong Delta will be on. The organizing commettee of the event also aims at promoting local tourism products, handicrafts and souvenirs. Food stalls and restaurants won't lack and a mock floating market is on the program, too.
