Though today they are well spread around the country, Kyoto remains a popular filming location for the jidaigeki period pictures. No wornder that a jidaigeki epic of Tajuro Jun Aiki, the first film in 20 years for the 84-year-old Nakajima, who also serves as the honorary chairman of the festival's executive committee, will be featured during the festival.
