No More Taxi Rip-Off in Phuket: Use Phuket Smart Bus Instead

Phuket, Thailand's popular resort destination is fully prepared for the oncoming high tourist season with its Phuket Smart Bus finally providing a great alternative for airport transfers and public transportation between the southern and norther parts of the island's western coast.

In operation since April, 1st, Phuket Smart Bus is a welcome novelty on the island which till recently has not had many options for those who do not want to use local tuk-tuk taxi service infamous for rather inflated rates.

Currently, there is only one – remarkably scenic! – route of Phuket Smart Bus available: 'the blue line' goes all along the western coast linking Rawai and the International Airport calling en route to some of the most popular beaches including Surin, Kamala, Patong, Karon, Kata with total of 50 stops. The distance covered by bus is 56 km and the travel time can be anywhere between two and three hours depending on traffic and weather conditions.

There are regular departures every 45 minutes from 6am till 8.15pm in either direction. All buses are air-conditioned and equipped with soft seats, onboard Wi-Fi, and USB ports for charging your phones. There is a luggage area and wheel chair access. The ticket price depends on the distance you ride and is within THB50-170 range.
