Get Married Right Under the Sea!

Trang Provincial Administration Organization, Trang Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports, Trang Municipality, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) have joined their hands again to organize the annual underwater wedding ceremony in 2019.

First held several years ago and promoted as a special Saint Valentine's Day activity, Trang Underwater Wedding Ceremony since than has become a signature attraction of the Trang province.

In 2019, the ceremony will take place on Feburary, 12-14. The couples who wish to get married under water should apply in advance. Thought no special training is required we would not recommend signing up for the underwater registration procedure if you are not at least Open Water certified.

Trang is one of the southern Thai coastal provinces stretching along the shores of the Andaman Sea south of Krabi. Boasting unspoiled natural beauty and a scattering of islands rivalling those of Phuket, Krabi or Satung provinces, Trang remains relatively out of radar of foreign travellers. The provincial capital is easily reached from Bangkok via a flight, a bus ride or a train journey with the train station sitting right in the centre of town while Trang's famous islands – from Koh Libong where endangered dugongs reside to Koh Ngai, an exclusive pampering Mecca for those in the know – are a short longtail or speedboat trip from the shores.
