Wonderful Indonesia Culinary and Shopping Festival Starts Tomorrow

The annual Wonderful Indonesia Culinary and Shopping Festival (WICSF) is back again! A one-month long shopping extravaganza will hit 20 provinces around the country from September, 27 till October, 27.

This year, it is the third addition of the festival. With over one hundred fifty malls in Jakarta, Pekanbaru, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Sulawesi and East Kalimantan among others destinations participating, the festival will be bigger than ever. The official opening ceremony will be held tomorrow, September, 27, on the World Tourism Day, in Beachwalk Shopping Center, KutaBali.

The festival is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia. It is expected that this time transaction value during the festival will be at least 80% higher than in the previous year and reach USD160 million. The Wonderful Indonesia Culinary and Shopping Festival is now one of the 100 major tourist events and festivals featured in '100 Calendar of Events' and it makes its steady contribution in boosting tourism in the country. It also provides good motivation for small and middle-size businesses, especially manufacturers of traditional products like batik and handicrafts.
