Now all non-Thai visitors pay THB100 (which was raised from THB50 a couple of years ago). Daily, between 7000 and 8000 foreigners come to see the most venerated reclining Buddha in Thailand with their own eyes. The most frequent guests come from China, South Korea, Japan, France, Germany, the UK, US, India and Russia.
The colossal image of Buddha is housed in a purposely built vihan and is 15 metres high and impressive 43 metres long. Besides the giant statue, there is a traditional massage shop in the premises of the temple which is also the most visited massage shop in the whole country.
This year, Wat Pho turns 230 years old. A grand celebration dedicated to this occasion will take place from November, 2 till November, 11. It will feature daily chanting, the ceremony of wrapping cloth over 230 Buddha images, and a number of cultural performances. There will be a special exhibition on the temple's two century long history, as well.

News in AsiaTripAdvisor has named Wat Pho in Bangkok N1 attraction in the whole country – and immediately the news followed that from January, 1st, 2019 the entrance fee for foreigners visiting the temple will be doubled.
