Drones Are Legal in India from December 1

The Aviation Ministry of India has prepared a true gift for travellers and drone photo and video enthusiasts: from December, 1st, it is totally legal to fly your drone in India. Taking into consideration that several countries in Asia have recently introduced stricter requirements for registration of drones or have just banned them down, this move deserves applause.

Here are 4 beginner-friendly drones to consider if you are planning to take aerial views of India – choose and enjoy.

1. DJI TelloA great choice for beginners, a Tello is a modestly priced (INR10,000) drone with a 5 MP camera. Flying time is 13 minutes – enough to figure out how drones work.

2. DJI SparkFive times more expensive than Tello, Spark features a 12 MP camera, flies for 15 minutes within the flying range of 2 km.

3. Syma X5SW Axis Gyro RC HeadlessAs affordable as Tello, this drone saves all captured images directly to your phone as it has no memory of its own. It is steady but flies only to 50 metres and for 7 minutes.

4. DJI Mavic AirThe most expensive of the batch (INR90,000), Mavic Air allows you to shoot images in RAW format with its 12 MP camera. It also has a safety feature which prevents it from crashing, wow.
