The traditional Autumn Festival will feature street performances and shows to make visitors acquainted with local traditions and rituals like e.g. the bride welcoming ceremony of Dao people and the land-worshipping ceremony of Giay ethnic group. There will be a lot of food stalls dishing out local specialties and Sa Pa photography exhibition will introduce tourists to mountainous lanscapes and people.
Famous for its varied hill tribe culture and abundance of trekking opportunities, Sapa is putting great effort in sustainable development of the region to cope with challenges of the growing numbers of tourists. In the frame of the festival a seminar on Sapa's potential and future development in 2018-2020 will be held during September 15-17.
Though located in the mountains, Sa Pa is easily reached from Hanoi via an 8-hour train ride to Lao Cai and a further half-an hour taxi ride or a direct 6-hour bus ride.
Autumn Festival Kicks Off in Sa Pa
