Suvarnabhumi Airport needs new runway

Last accident with Thai Airways aircraft, which skidded off Suvarnabhumi Airport’s eastern runway, has forced Airports of Thailand (AoT) to think about building new one.

Last accident with Thai Airways aircraft arrived from Guangzhou, which skidded off Suvarnabhumi Airport’s eastern runway, has forced Airports of Thailand (AoT) to think about building new one.

During three days eastern runway was closed therefore hundreds flights was delayed.   

It is expected that new runway at Suvarnabhumi Airport will be 3000 metre long and will be used to ease traffic congestion and to emergencies. AoT’s initiative was endorsed by Transport Minister Chadchart Sittipunt.
