If You Are After Diving, Where Would You Go in Asia?

With outstanding diving spots both for beginners, professional divers and underwater photograpy enthusiasts abounding, the Department of Tourism (DOT) of the Philippines is sure the country has great potential to become a major diving hub in Asia

DOT will campaign to promote the Philippines to the world diving community stressing the strong sides of local diving which is especially suitable for beginners thanks to easily reached diving spots and inderwater photographers thanks to high water transparency and picturesque underwater scenery. Local marine life is very rich in terms of mainstream diving and there are great diving spots which could be explored all year round.

Indeed, there are quite a few internationally recognized diving sites in the country including the Dimakya Island in Palawan; Donsol, Sorsogon; Dauin in Negros Oriental; Apo Reef in Occidental Mindoro; Puerto Galera in Mindoro; Anilao in Batangas; Malapascua in Cebu; Coron Bay in Palawan; and the Tubbataha Reef. Besides, DOT will draw tourists' attention to emerging diving destinations like Samal and Talikud Island in Davao del Norte and Camiguin Island in Northern Mindanao.

The recent Diving Resort and Travel (DRT) Show 2018 held in Manila showed huge interest towards diving industry in the country with over 21,500 guest from around the world visiting the event and 154 exhibitors presenting local and international diving brands.
