Baggage-Free Air Tickets Available with Etihad Airways

Great news for those who prefer travelling light: Etihad Airways have launched a budget-friendly option which does not include checked baggage.

Currently the baggage-free option is available on selected routes only which include flights between Abu Dhabi and destinations in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt and Azerbaijan. There is a complimentary 7 kilo carry-on luggage allowance. The baggage-free tariff is for ecomony class tickets only and is called Deal Fare.

The last year's trial launch of the new tariff was a great success showing that travellers appreciate the opportunity to choose extras they pay for. The Deal Fare proved to be a success with business travellers, travellers on a day trip or on a weekend escape. If a passenger changes their mind after the Deal Fare ticket has been bought, it is still possible to pay for the checked baggage, either at the counter while checking in or online in advance – in the latter case there is a 20% discount applied.

Etihad Airways is the secind-largest airline in the United Arab Emirates. It serves 84 destinations worldwide across the 6 inhabited continents including all of the most popular Asian cities and airports – from Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Colombo in Sri Lanka, Yangon in Myanmar, 10+ destinations in both India and China. It is often the airline of choice for travelling between the States, Europe and Asia via connecting flights.
