The campaign called Ikot Manila features 70 must-see places in Metro Manila within an easy reach of 20 LRT-1 stations. There are suggestions for DIY tours as well as recommended DOT's official tour partners for those who prefer organized solutions.
The initiative is aiming at encouraging tourists to use Light Rail Transit as the fastest and safest mode of transportation within Metro Manila. The updated list of attractions which can be reached from the LRT stations includes a variety of sights from the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help or Quiapo Church that houses the Black Nazarene for those with interest in religios places, San Sebastian Church or the Golden Mosque for architecture buffs.
The representatives of the DOT also confirmed there are currently several development projects underway aimed at further improvement of the Intramuros as well as some other national parks in the vicinity of Manila.
