First direct flights might appear between Laos and Indonesia

Garuda, the national airline of Indonesia, and Lao Airlines from Lao PDR are considering the possibility of launching first direct flights between two countries. As expected, the first route will connect the capitals: Jakarta and Vientiane.

Feasibility study that is at the moment will give answers to basic questions, such as: if there is enough business and leisure traffic. Now the travelers who want to reach Indonesia from Laos or contrariwise should use Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, Thailand as a hub.

If studies will provide positive results, the first direct flights between Laos and Indonesia  will be launched no earlier than 2017 year.
