Four Most Unusual Forests to Visit in Asia

Husqvarna Group, a provider of outdoor power products and solutions for forest, park and garden care, has compiled a list of seven of the most awe-inspiring forests in the world.

While their list features absolutely stunning forests from around the world – from Avenue of Baobabs in Madagascar to Crooked Forest from the Polish Gryfino, we've picked out two of the forests they mention from Asia and added a couple of other destinations.

1. Gardens by the Bay – SingaporeWhile there are over 160,000 green plants in the gardens the most striking thing there is definitely gigantic man-made 25-50 m high trees supporting an areal walkway and forming a jaw-dropping one-of-a-kind forest.

2. Sagano Bamboo Forest – Kyoto, Japan
Slender and elegant bamboo trees standing close to each other not only form a spectacular picture but they also produce exqusite sounds akin a song of nature. Come in the morning to get the most of your visit.

3. Mossy Forest – Cameron Highlands, MalaysiaThink mossy, cloudy, fairytalish – this is what this forest looks like. Weird trunks of trees are all covered with century-old moss and low clouds blanket the forest immediately transporting you into some magical realm.

4. Sai Ngam – Phimai, ThailandIt is a one-tree forest but it even adds to its attractiveness. You would never guess that this spooky forest is created by a sole 350-old banyan tree. Take a stroll under its thick foliage or have a seat on one of the benches in the shadow and enjoy your afternoon away from the scorching sunrays.
