Kites, Kites and More Kites in Sanur This August

Visiting Bali, Indonesia in August? Do not miss out the 13th issue of Sanur Village Festival, the annual event which will be held at Maisonette Area of the Inna Grand Bali Beach from August, 22nd till 26th.

The theme chosen for this year's festival is 'The Circle and the Mountain', Mandala Giri. It will celebrate all thing connected to Mt Agung, the sacred mountain of Bali, its spiritual and cultural centre.

The program of the festival will feature an array of activities among which the Culinary Fiesta probably being the most tempting. During the event, chefs of all feather – from street stalls to 5 star hotel restaurants – will dish out their creations. Fun Games and Sport Tourism Competition is calling all sporty types – try your hand (and leg!) in a marathon race, surfing and windsurfing, golf, tennis and more.

But the main draw of Sanur Village event is arguably the international kite festival which will bring to Sanur traditional kites from Bali, other parts of Indonesia and all over the world. You have probably noticed that the locals along the coasts of Bali are passionate about kites – you can see multicoloured kites flying over many roofs in Kuta, Sanur or Denpasar on a daily bases. The kite festival is a great opportunity to see them all gathered together, flying higher than ever.
