World's Best Beaches – How Many Are in Asia?

Still unsure which beach to choose for your vacation? Check the US News & World Report. Yes, the majority of the beaches they mention are in Americas or Europe, but Asia has some, too!

While the list of the 15 Best Beaches is heavily dominated by Hawaii – The Big Island comes first, Maui is the third, Kauai is the fourth, and Honolulu on Oahu is the sixth (why, you've forgot about Molokai!), Costa Rica (5) and Puerto Rico (10) have also been mentioned.

If you think Europe, you won't go wrong with Santorini, that ever-popular postcard perfect island in Greece – it is on the seventh place. Crete, also in Greece, is unlikely to diaspoint you, either – more than that, it is often overlooked by travellers heading to other Greek islands, so you are likely find it not too crowded. Nice (9) in France is calling all rich and beautiful, while three Italian destinations, though not less expensive definitely feel more democratic: meet the biggest island of the Mediterranean, Sicily (11), rocky Cinque Terre (13) and absolutely splendid Almafi Coast (14).

What remains is only three beaches for the true lovers of Asia & Oceania: the gem of the Andaman, Phuket, has made it up to the second line, Bali sits on the 12th place and Maldives close the list.
