The initiative of the Ministry of Culture will bring to Krabi over 50 artists, both Thai and international, who will create their outdoor artworks and installations all around the city. The biennale will last about four months – from November, 2nd, till February, 28th. It is suggested that each time the exhibition will follow a different theme. This year it is the 'Edge of the Wonderland'. The artists are invited to present their interpretations, speculations and vision on the topic suggested.
The city authorities are sure the biennale will attract more domestic and foreign visitors to Krabi. It is worth mentioning that Krabi already has an experience in street art: on the initiative of Krabi Contemporary Art Museum several years ago local artists created a kind of street guidebook with the main attractions of the province depicted on a concrete wall adjacent the museum. If you are in Krabi, do not miss that – it really helps a lot to plan your stay there!
Krabi is located 780 km south of Bangkok and is best reached from the capital either via a flight or bus ride. You can cover a 160-km overland distance from Phuket to Krabi by bus or cross the sea by boat.
