Silk Air became the first airline from Singapore in Myanmar

Hopes of Myanmar tourism industry imposed on new flights of Singaporean carrier Silk Air to Mandalay. Since 10 June this airline operates three weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in the frame of Myanmar’s open-door policy.

Hopes of Myanmar tourism industry imposed on new flights of Singaporean carrier Silk Air to Mandalay. Since 10 June this airline operates three weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in the frame of Myanmar’s open-door policy. The flights from Singapore to Mandalay are operated directly, but the return flight makes a stop in Yangon. A319 and A320 aircraft with business and economy class cabins serve new Silk Air’s route.

Mandalay now is the second city of Myanmar which has a great potential for tourism development. Now flights to Mandalay are operated by Bangkok Airways, Air Asia and Thai Smile from Bangkok and by China Eastern Airlines from Kunming. Silk Air became the first Singaporean airline at Myanmar’s market.
