15 Best Islands of the World: 2018 Edition

Have you been waiting for the 2018's edition of the 15 best islands of the world by Travel + Leisure as we have? The T + L review confirms we are on the right track: many of the best world islands are in Asia and we know how to get there (here)!

We won't keep you in suspensce: the best island of the world in 2018 is Java, Indonesia. The close forerunner is Bali, Indonesia. And number three is Lombok, Indonesia again! You have already booked your trip to Indonesia, have you not?

The only other successful competitior which has more than one mentioning in the list is the Philippines with Palawan coming the sixth followed by Cebu (have you heard it is currently closed for tourists?), the eighth.

None of the islands in Thailand made it up to the top-15 this year, surprise. We see neither Phu Quoc in Vietnam nor Koh Rong in Cambodia in the list, what a pity – maybe the next time?
Anyway, if you are looking for the best island destination this year, put your eyes on the Maldives (4), Waiheke in New Zealand (5), Mauritius (7), Paros in Greece (9), Tasmania in Australi (10), Galapagos islands in Ecuador (11), Cook islands (12), Orkley islands in Scotland (13), Maui in Hawaii (14) and Azores in Portugal (15). Have a memorable island trip!
