Clickety-Clack – A New Luxury Train Is Coming to Odisha

A new luxury train is coming to Odisha, a popular tourist destination known for ancient Hindu temples and rich tribal culture, in Eastern India.

The Odisha state government and the Indian Railways believe that the new train similar to the famous 'Palace on Wheels' will attract more high-end tourists ready to spend money to the region. The train will ply the route between the most notable tourist attraction of the state.

The whole project will be a joint venture of the state of Odisha and the Indian Railways – the sides have already agreed to divide the expenditures. Thus, the state will be responsible for the interior decoration of the coaches and will decide the route while the Indian Railways will take care of the technical part of the project.

Luxury trains enjoy great popularity in India. Currently there is a number of such trains including the already mentioned 'Palace On Wheels' offering the Rajasthan Tour and 'The Desert Queen' between Jodhpur and Jaisalmer operating in the state of Rajasthan; 'The Maharajas Express' between Delhi and Mumbai in Maharashtra; 'The Golden Chariot' between Bengaluru and Goa in  Karnataka.
