Since this Sunday, 11 May the Department of Land Transport (Thailand) undertakes all passengers to wear seat belts in public buses.

Since this Sunday, 11 May the Department of Land Transport (Thailand) undertakes all passengers to wear seat belts in public buses. The new rule will be introduced to ensure the safety of passengers as recently the number of traffic accidents with buses has increased dramatically.

The penalty for non-observance of the new rules will be 5 000 baht. The information about the mandatory use of seat belts has appeared on all the bus stations of the country. All buses are also pre-fitted with seat belts.
