Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World, Orlando with its 20.45 mln visitors in 2017 tops the list, totally dominated by Disney properties with Disneyland, Anaheim being the runner-up and Tokyo Disneyland coming the third.
Disney theme parks also occupy lines from 5 to 9, with Tokyo Disneysea on the 5th place, Shanghai Disneyland – on the 8th and all the remaining three parks found in Orlando: Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World is the 6th, Epcot at Walt Disney World is the 7th and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World come the 9th.
The two only non-Disney theme parks which saw the largest number of visitors in 2017 are Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, on the 4th place, and Universal Studios at Universal Orlando, closing the list.
Though none of the European theme parks made it up to the top-10 global ranking, overall attendance of the Park Asterix in Paris, Disneyland Paris which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year, and Puy du Fou in western France grew. Other European countries like Italy, Germany and the UK showed very mediocre results comparing to China's impressive 20% rise.
