Department of Civil Aviation decided to reopen Loeng Nok Tha Airport in Yasothon province in nearest two years.

Against the background of a growing tourism industry and civil aviation Thailand has several abandoned airports. One of them is a small Airport in Yasothon province. It is located in Loeng Nok Tha district, 52 kilometres from Mukdahan province.

Department of Civil Aviation decided to reopen Loeng Nok Tha Airport in nearest two years. At this moment it has only a 1,600-metre runway and two buildings, but as expected it will be equipped with 3,000-metre-long runway for large aircrafts.

The reopened Loeng Nok Tha Airport will promote development of three neighboring provinces and might become gateway to Indochina.
