No More Plastic Straws at Hilton in Asia Pacific

By the end of 2018 Hilton Hotels are going to completely get rid of plastic straws in all of their hotels in Asia Pacific contributing thus to the green initiatives in the region.

In order to cut the company's footprint twice, Hilton will also wave goodbye to its plastic bottles and – wow – conference rooms. It is just another step towards a higher level of sustainability of the properties under the company;s management.

Currently Hilton operates over 5,300 properties in 100+ locations throughout the world. The company is putting efforts into doubling their positive social effect by 2030 and rising awareness on environmental issues both within the group and among their guests.

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) reports that eight mln tons of plastic are dumped into the seas yearly. Small plastic oblects like straws, bottles and boxes constitute a huge part of this rubbish choking the oceans. It is now absolutely clear that without urgent action the problem will not be resolved.
