The event is organized and supported by Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade and is aimed at boosting tourism in the south of Vietnam as well as making the visitors acquainted with a huge variety of local fruit which are haversted during this period.
Over 150 species of fruit grown throughout the country will sell 20%-40% below market prices. The visitors will have an opportunity to taste and buy local fruit as well as participate in a wide range of specially organized activities like visiting the fruit floating market, witnessing the best fruit competition and a fashion parade of fruit-patterned gowns and dresses, trying their hand in fruit carving, and more.
It is expected that the event will receive over 1.6 mln visitors.
