A special memory lane will be set to make the visitors acquainted with the zoo's history. Several new exibits including RepTopia and Fragile Forest will see their first guests during the festive period and an abundunce of fun and entertaiment programs and activites will be organized to make the celebration special.
The Singapore Zoo is managed by the Wildlife Reserves Singapore, also operating other nature related attractions like Night and River Safaris and Jurong Bird Park. Every year over 1.7 mln guests visit the zoo which occupies 28 hectars and is home to 300 species of mammals, birds and reptiles. Besides, there are several shows conducted regularly allowing the visitors to have a closer look at the life and habits of certain aminals like elephants, acquatic mammals and birds, or orangutans. There are special activities for the youngest visitors making any visit to the zoo a real family event.
During the past 40+ years the Singapore Zoo has been awarded a variety of titles and prizes including 8 'Leisure Attraction of the Year' awards by Singapore Tourism Board, the main tourism administrative body of the country-state.

First opened to the public on June, 27, 1973, the Singapore Zoological Garden is going to celebrate its 45th anniversary with a variety of special activities from May, 26 till June, 30 this year.
