Got Ferry Terminal, Vietnam Now Open 24/7

Got ferry terminal linking Hai Phing and Cat Ba island, notoriously famous for endless queues of passengers and vehicles, will now operate round the clock.

The inreasing passenger flow during the summer season and constant conjestion at the terminal made the transport authorities of Hai Phong take a decision of round the clock operation of Got ferry terminal starting from May, 12. It is reported that the traffic flow between the island and the mainland increases twice during the peack season with 2,000 cars, 2,500 motorbikes and 14,000 passengers using the service daily.

Though the ferry ride itself is quite short and lasts 15 minutes, before it was not unusual to spend hours queuing to get to the ferry. The last ferry left the terminal at 5pm often leaving many visitors to the island stuck on Cat Ba unable to catch transport to the mainland. 24/7 operation schedule should help solve this problem.

However, there is a limitation on huge trucks circulation heading to and from the island between 2pm and 9pm on Friday and 5am and 9pm on Saturday and Sunday to secure a traffic-free travel to Cat Ba for the weekenders.

With its stunning scenery and quickly developing infrastructure, Cat Ba island is one of the favourite island escapes both for the locals and international tourists.
