This presents a challenge for tour operators as such visitors tend to do without them and go on their own being content to eat and shop where they choose.
The Singapore Tourism Board is trying to find ways of promoting tours and activities outside of the well-known Marina Bay area as part of Passion Made possible brand. The Board has been organizing themed events in malls ION Orchard and VivoCity as a result of three-year cooperation with Disney.
STB is planning to start Design Orchard with retail boutiques and creative area situated in a hectic shopping street where local designers and brands will be represented.
