Travellers Look for Authenticity in Singapore

Tourists coming to Singapore are not happy any longer with visiting the basic sights, they are eager to see more authentic things, so travel agents are trying to devise tours to the city’s heartland.

Travellers may be taken to satellite towns to see and learn something new about Singapore and have hands-on experience.Visitors from China are at the top of the list of travellers and they have begun to explore the heart of the city full of local shops and hawker centres. This presents a challenge for tour operators as such visitors tend to do without them and go on their own being content to eat and shop where they choose.

The Singapore Tourism Board is trying to find ways of promoting tours and activities outside of the well-known Marina Bay area as part of Passion Made possible brand. The Board has been organizing themed events in malls ION Orchard and VivoCity as a result of three-year cooperation with Disney.

STB is planning to start Design Orchard with retail boutiques and creative area situated in a hectic shopping street where local designers and brands will be represented.
