Last year there were only five on the list. Two new bars have entered the list – Ku Bar (#49) and Smalls (29) while one bar has dropped off – Q&A which is a rail-carriage themed bar.
The Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental went up from #13 to #9, besides, it was named Best Bar in Thailand. Backstage climbed five points from #18 last year to #13 this year. Vesper rocketed from #40 to #27 making an impressive rise. Teens of Thailand moved slightly upwards from #46 to #44 this year.
The honorary first place was given to Manhattan Bar from Singapore again.
The Asia’s 50 Best Bars list is made by the votes of the Asia’s 50 Best Bars Academy, which involves more that 200 drink experts, bartenders, drink writers and consultants from Asia, the most knowledgeable members. They rank seven best bars they have visited a year and a half before in many Asian countries. Asia’s 50 Best Bars is owned and organized by William Reed Business Media.
