Travel trends have been changing over the last few years. There was a shift to experiential travelling which rose quickly in India. Tourists tend to be more adventurous, they try to explore the places through their culture, history and people.

A large number of people travel off the beaten track, among them those who are older than 35. 28 per cent of people admit having about 5 adventure trips a year. Trekking as well as water sports are preferred by 26 and 25 per cent of travellers respectively. 27 per cent consider the Himalayas to be the best destination for adventurous travel in India.

The rising demand for experiential travel is mainly the merit of the government authorities in promotion of adventure tourism. Almost one third of people acknowledge that social networks have motivated them for such kind of travelling. Tourists spend more money during their journeys with a 13 per cent rise during 2015-2017. Thrillophilia makes adventure travel easily accessible and safe.
